As the Managing Partner of Slate, I am fully focused on all aspects of financial services—a culmination of my career thus far. For the last 20 years, I’ve designed and executed talent acquisition strategies for banks and wealth management firms, global asset managers, and insurance companies.
In the wealth management world, I built and led the executive recruiting function for the corporate headquarters of Edward Jones, one of the largest wealth management firms in the country. I partnered with firm leadership on hiring strategy and represented Edward Jones to the executive talent marketplace as I led executive searches across the entire platform. This role was specifically responsible for identifying, engaging, assessing, interviewing, and hiring candidates for the firm’s most senior-level leadership roles.
For the 10 years prior, I designed and operated a niche executive search firm specializing in the recruitment of mid- to senior-level professionals in the US and global capital markets. The firm accepted mandates in the areas of Investment banking, equity research, institutional sales and trading, institutional asset management and private equity. I began my career with Northwestern Mutual Life/Robert W. Baird Securities as a financial advisor.
I’m a Peter Drucker fan and one of my guiding principles is his quote, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Maryville University of St. Louis, MO and am licensed as a Registered General Securities Representative, Series 7.
I grew my career in the financial services business, working for two of the top 5 largest wealth management firms in the country. During this time, I tailored my expertise to virtual investing and partnering with affluent commercial and private banking clients in order to centralize and meet the needs for multiple asset classes. These experiences enabled me to collaborate and exceed the needs of my clients, which included advisors, bankers, attorneys, and financial specialists, among others.
Now, as a Senior Associate at Slate, I am responsible for all aspects of financial services in the development of strategic target lists and candidate pools as well as organizational mapping. I develop deep understanding of the growth, trends, culture, and technical/operational specifics and challenges for clients of Slate.
Previously, I was a financial advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors and also with Edward Jones. I built my career by leveraging banking and advisory relationships across the country and specializing in a range of functions, from building private tailored portfolios for individuals and small businesses to private banking needs for both large insurance companies and wealth management firms.
I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Southern Illinois University and is licensed as a Registered General Securities Representative, Series 7 and Series 66.
